Due to a 7 night safari, our stables are closed from Sunday the 30th of September until Sunday the 7th of October. We will take bookings for our short safaris from the 8th of October.
When We Ride
We run short safaris (1 hour, 1 and a half hours, 2 hour & 3 hour rides) 7 days a week at 10am in the morning and 2pm in the afternoon. Bookings are essential as we have limited horses and guides. Our overnight and multiday horse riding safaris are run on demand with a minumum of 2 riders. Our sunset rides (90mins) run from 4pm on demand and include boat transport from either Adrift or Nile River Explorers campsites and beer, local spirits, juice and sodas.
Never been riding before?
No need to worry, the majority of people that ride with us on our short safaris have minimal or no horse riding experience. Our horses are well trained, and understand what is required of them. We give you brief training before your safari on the basics of controlling your horse. Our safaris only go at a pace you feel comfortable.
Nile Horseback Safaris
in Jinja, Uganda
Join us for a unique ride through a typical Ugandan village and a stunning section along the banks of the Nile. On our overnight and multiday rides you can also experience the views from the hills overlooking the Nile valley, canter through the stunning plantation vistas and relax in the tranquility of Mabira forest.
We can accommodate riding groups with mixed levels of experience by allowing the riding groups to temporarily separate at certain points on the safari allowing more competent riders to ride at a more advanced pace and those not so confident to stay within their comfort zone. For those experienced riders looking for a fast paced safari with plenty of cantering, we do have specific safaris for advanced riders only. Check out our safaris page to find the right ride for you.
We are members of the Jinja Adventure Safety Association whose goal is to improve safety by having members monitor each others safety standards and continuing to improve all aspects of safe operation while running adventure activities.
Please note: We have a strict 90kg rider weight limit for the safety of our riders and for the health of our horses.
"We believe a well fed, well treated horse is the basis of a safe safari riding horse".
Owned & operated by Aussie & Kiwi expatriates, our horses are healthy, well treated, well schooled to give you a range of safe calm horses to suit any level of rider experience.
